Dr. Evgeny Zaytsev is a professional venture capitalist with many years of investment experience in biopharmaceutical and medical device companies. He is one of the founders and CEO of Global Venture Alliance, a company established by US venture capital firms in order to coordinate their efforts in the global technology markets and explore regional opportunities. Dr. Zaytsev co-founded Helix Ventures, a life sciences venture capital firm, in 2008. Since 2001 he was a Partner with Pitch Johnson at Asset Management Company, one of the oldest venture capital firms in Silicon Valley, and was one of the creators of its successful life sciences portfolio. Dr. Zaytsev participated in financings of 25 biopharmaceutical and medial device companies. He has been involved in such success stories of venture capital as BiPar Sciences (acquired by sanofi-aventis), Enteric Medical Technologies (acquired by Boston Scientific), Fusion Medical Technologies (acquired by Baxter International), MicroVention (acquired by Terumo Corporation), TriVascular (acquired by Boston Scientific). He is a Board Member of a number of private life sciences companies in Silicon Valley, and an Advisory Council Member of the Russian Venture Company.

Evgeny Zaytsev has been Chief Scientific Officer of Institute of Medico-Ecological Problems in Barnaul, Russia, which was responsible for studying the health and environmental effects of the former Soviet Union's nuclear testing program. Under his leadership the Institute developed into an internationally recognized research center.

Dr. Zaytsev is an active business community leader. He is a founder and the first president of the US-Russia Technology Symposium at Stanford University, and the annual Silicon Valley Open Doors technology investment conference. Evgeny is Advisory Board member and past president of the American Business Association of Russian Professionals (AmBAR).

Evgeny Zaytsev is an author of multiple scientific and business publications on entrepreneurship, venture capital and biotechnology. He received his M.D. (cum laude) in 1991 and his Ph.D. in physiology in 1993, both from the Altai State Medical University. He earned his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2002.
